MotoConcepts Racing kicked off the Anaheim opener of the Monster Energy AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship, before a sold-out crowd of 45,050 fans at Angel Stadium.
Three MotoConcepts Racing riders: Mike Alessi, Jeff Alessi, and Vince Friese lined up Saturday afternoon, January 7th, 2012 for qualifying with Mike settled and confident after an off-season of continuous testing and racing in several European Supercross events. Jeff didn’t have that luxury as he was injured right up until the week before Anaheim. And Vince, though being healthy, had recently switched bike brands and dropped down from the Supercross class to Lites class.
Chad Reed is a two-time AMA Supercross Series Champion. Chad Reed has won an AMA National MX Championship in the 'Motocross' class. Chad started his own race team, TwoTwo Motorsports, for the 2011 race season.

With the Monster Energy AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship, now underway, Feld Motor Sports® announced today that Motorcycle Mechanics Institute (MMI) has returned to serve as the official technical institute of Monster Energy Supercross for the next two years.
As part of MMI’s involvement with Monster Energy Supercross, they will once again reward the top-performing mechanic at the conclusion of each supercross race with the MMI Top Tech award of $500. Top Tech award recipients, who against all odds, helped their rider qualify for the main event will be showcased at the closing of the night’s racing action. At the conclusion of the 17-race season, the championship’s top technician will be awarded the prestigious MMI Champion’s Mechanic award.
The KTM Ride Orange Demo Ride crew is excited to announce its first off-road demo ride of the New Year which will be held at Arizona Cycle Park on Sunday, January 15, 2012 from 10am-4pm.
Sign-ups will take place at 9:00am at Arizona Cycle Park located in Buckeye, AZ. KTM will offer demo rides on all 125cc and higher SX model motorcycles as well as select XC and XC-W models.
